Windows Media Player has been crashing on me for a long time, so I’ve moved to WinAmp on the basis that it’s one of the few media players that can play .FLAC files right out of the box, and it’s decent so far. I downloaded a hotkey program so I can still use the dedicated media keys on the keyboard with Winamp, too, I did a project!

Why is it that all the screenshots of just AWESOME responses to questions always come from Anonymous askers?! Well, it’s because the responder is the asker! O: Come up with a sub-par joke, decide to make it better by pretending you came up with it on the spot, all cool and suave-like, in response to some hating anon, what couldn’t go wrong? You piss Luke off, that’s what goes...

“Trent Reznor is not hung like a horse… horses are hung like Trent Reznor. Trent...”
– The most amusing part of this depiction of Mr. Reznor as ridiculously violent, temperamental, powerful and bursting with masculinity is that he’s actually really shy and quiet.

The music I… I always try to be nice and friendly while subtly building up an army, so when they inevitably turn aside my offers of friendship I can crush them. This is is hilarious and brilliant! “Ohh don’t kill me, oh great one, I couldn’t possibly stand up to your might! No, not my front gate! Why oh...

Such an epic game of Age of Empires! The music I was listening to was building up to this sombre climax full of static and distortion as I razed the opposition and the music slowly died away at the same time as my enemy. Now I feel awfully evil, but to be fair, he started it.

I could leave the psych blog as it is right now and it would still be operational for another two months. There’s 63 posts in the queue and 75 raw posts in the draft I haven’t processed for reblogging yet. After the initial jump the followers are still steadily trickling in.

So I was in the backyard and I hear some boisterous fellows singing Tribute at the top of their lungs! And I join in, and applaud when they finish, and they yell their thanks back to me. They’re neighbours I’ve never spoken to, over a couple fences, it sounded like there was about four of them. After Tribute they played the Greece song, Summer Loving, and that pop song, “I see...

I’m listening to Bloc Party, I used to listen to Bloc Party while playing Harvest Moon 64, so I read the Wikipedia article on Bloc Party because that’s what you do, and their recent material is influenced by Radiohead! And they mentioned Mogwai once or twice so I’ve got some Mogwai and it’s great, and you know what, so is Elliott Smith. Thanks Mel!

I’m reading about schemas, and it’s quite damaging. It’s like it’s saying, “Look, we’ve done the research, and you’re completely broken.” It makes it even harder to deny.

I decided to do an experiment where I’d measure the how many people responded to “MY NAME IS LUKE AND I’M A REDHEAD” versus “MY NAME IS LUKE AND I’M A GINGER”. Alarmingly, not a single person responded to either one. I also tried “MY NAME IS LUKE AND I’M BLONDE”, but that person also left. So the next person I tried “My name is Luke...

Stem cells are the over-achieving school captain of the body. Fake blood synthesised from stem cells this, stem cells decode ancient language that, the headlines don’t stop. It’s always either stem cells or cancer. Cancer is the menace, the vandal who hangs around, messing up old men’s lawns, smoking in the bathrooms.

Sometimes it gets me down that the world has been so thoroughly explored. I know there are arguments against this - that most of the ocean HASN’T been explored, and I’m constantly fascinated by the things that seem impossible scientists pull up, discovery after discovery. And I know there are very secluded rainforests which are still introducing to us new and strange species. But my...

Just as I was dozing off last night I thought I saw some huge insect or spider falling from the ceiling onto my covers. I leapt off, threw the cover down and had such an adrenaline rush I didn’t get back to sleep for another half hour. Then I had a nightmare about a haunted house and not being in control of my own body, I get that one a lot. Then the dream took a turn, I ran into teachers...

So here's the problem and the plan.
I’m not getting nearly enough study done sitting around the house in a bath robe and pyjama pants. Furthermore, I haven’t shaved for going on three weeks. So here’s the plan. I take my lunch like a proper gentleman, I shower and shave like a normal person, I dress up and I study psychology.

November Resolution
Purchase a newsboy cap. Somehow. Even if I have to have my head measured, my hair cut to cram the damn thing on, even if I have to order it online, even if it costs $30. This will happen. Mark my words.
